What are the additional benefits of Bouncing Bits?
By submitting the $25 application fee, you are also included in the Bouncing Bits team of aspiring comedians, actors, and writers. You will be contacted by someone from Bouncing Bits to understand your ultimate goals, struggles, and what we can do to help. This may include assistance with contract negotiations, bookings, mentorships, and more.
How do I apply for the Comedy Grant?
Please apply on our Financial Grants page. You must provide all of the required information and a $25 application fee to be considered for the grant.
What can the grant be used for?
While we would love to know for certain that the financial grant is used to progress your comedy career, we do not have the resources to do so. We at Bouncing Bits will do our best to award the grant to someone we believe is in need and can truly benefit from financial help. This can be anything from paying to film your first special or sketch, paying someone to help with social media presence, to giving you a few months of rent to help move to the big city. The comedy grant will be given in full, and we will not question your intentions.
Why is there an application fee?
The application fee goes directly toward funding the Comedy Grant. This allows us to secure funding for the following years, and helps to block out spam. Bouncing Bits is a nonprofit organization and this fee will never go to the pockets of our directors.
When will the winner be announced?
The 2024 Comedy Grant recipient will be contacted in March 2024. The recipient will be contacted privately before the announcement is made public.
How much money is the 2024 Comedy Grant?
The yearly comedy grant starts at $10,000 and increases in $5,000 intervals as donations reach certain milestones for the following year. The 2024 Comedy Grant will not increase unless the 2025 Comedy Grant minimum has been secured.
